Dr. Vedantham is an experienced Interventional Radiologist who specializes in the study of new image-guided therapies for venous disease. Over a 21-year period, he has personally performed thousands of venous interventional procedures, including IVC filter placements and retrievals, pharmacomechanical catheter-directed thrombolysis for DVT and PE, and endovascular stent placement and endovenous thermal ablation for the treatment of chronic venous disease. Dr. Vedantham has a strong career interest in bringing rigorous scientific methodology to the field of image-guided venous therapies, and is currently the national PI of the NHLBI-sponsored ATTRACT and C-TRACT Trials,which seek to determine if image-guided therapy can reduce disability in patients with DVT. Dr. Vedantham is interested in high-impact multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving venous care, especially translational and clinical research in venous thrombosis.
