My work examines health system quality at the macro level, with a focus on cross-national comparative analyses that explore how different structures and policies shape outcomes. I am especially interested in primary care performance as a central platform for delivering equitable, high-quality care. I use mixed-methods approaches, drawing on econometrics, implementation science, and related disciplines to understand how health systems function for people. This work includes leading the People’s Voice Survey, a multi-country initiative assessing health system performance from the perspective of populations, implemented in over 25 countries. By combining rigorous quantitative methods, qualitative insights, and policy engagement, my research identifies actionable strategies to strengthen health systems, improve service quality, and promote better population health globally.
