Dr. Fan studies liver diseases by combination of molecular techniques, next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics. He invented several amplification techniques, including long RT-PCR (patented) and template-dependent multiple displacement amplification. These methods allow the study of human genomics at single-cell level and also applicable for genomic research with human body fluid.
