My research explores how neurosteroids modulate GABA_A receptors to regulate neuronal excitability and network activity, employing electrophysiological techniques such as in vitro patch-clamp recordings and in vivo EEG in wild-type and mutant mouse models. By integrating cellular-level insights with network dynamics, including brain states like REM, NREM, and wakefulness, I aim to identify therapeutic targets for neurological disorders linked to altered excitability and network function.
