Nancy Sweitzer, MD, PhD, Named as Director of Clinical and Translational Science Award Translational Workforce Development (CTSA TWD) and Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC) at WashU Medicine
As Director of the Clinical Research Training Center, Dr. Sweitzer will oversee the training and education core of WashU’s CTSA. The Clinical Research Training Center provides clinical and translational research training for undergraduate scholars, postbaccalaureate scholars, predoctoral trainees, postdoctoral scholars, fellows, staff, and junior faculty. As the Director of Translational Workforce Development, Dr. Sweitzer will oversee the training and career development programs, including the TL1 Pre- and Postdoctoral Training Programs and KL2 Career Development Program, the training of research professionals, and mentor training.
Dr. Sweitzer is currently the Vice Chair of Clinical Research for the Department of Medicine, and Director of Clinical Research for the Cardiovascular Division at WashU School of Medicine. Prior to coming to WashU, Dr. Sweitzer served as the Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine, Director of the Sarver Heart Center, and Co-Director of the Clinical Translational Sciences Graduate Program at the University of Arizona – Tucson.
