The ICTS has awarded five awards to investigators in the ICTS’ 3rd annual virtual poster display and contest.
As part of the 6th Annual ICTS Symposium, 24 separate posters were submitted and reviewed by 10 ICTS faculty. Posters showcased one of these 4 types of translational research:
T1 Translation to Humans
Translation of new understandings of disease mechanisms gained in the laboratory into the development of new methods for diagnosis, therapy, and prevention, and their initial testing in proof-of-concept studies in humans
T2 Translation to Clinical Settings
Translation of initial research findings to test hypotheses and/or approaches in clinical applications; encompasses early-stage clinical trials through larger scale, multi-center trials
T3 Translation to Practice
Effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and comparative effectiveness studies conducted in practice sites, ensuring the translation of results from clinical studies into clinical practice settings
T4 Translation to Population
Dissemination and implementation research, which identifies and resolves barriers to implementation of evidence-based guidelines into community practice
Posters were also categorized by early-stage, clinical, or health services/population health research. Each poster was evaluated by three reviewers and judged in areas of significance, approach, innovation, visual presentation, and for long-term, short-term, national, and local impact.
Each awardee had the opportunity to display their poster at the Symposium and speak with attendees about their research. Winners will receive a $500 prize.
